So finally after waiting almost a year I got my hands on an apple pencil. If you're curious YES they are wonderful. Good pressure sensitivity, excellent palm rejection, just so much fun to use. I feel motivated to draw because I can pick up my tools and open my app with no more hassle than a sketchbook.

I've only done one piece (this one) from start to finish with the apple pencil and Procreate app but my first impression is if you want to do large high res digital illustrations for print these tools would be best for starting the sketches and concepts. Most likely I would prefer to finish it on my Mac with the Cintiq and photoshop.

This is based on a doodle I made in my Sketchbook. At first I was going to try and re-do it from the beginning and did a few practice doodles but decided to use the camera to make a photo of my original sketch and base it off of that. Overall the iPad with Apple Pencil has become my ultimate art tool and I'd highly recommend it. Pretty good pressure sensitivity and excellent palm rejection. If you're into digital art and like to draw on the couch or just prefer something more portable I can't recommend this enough.
